A very busy and very hot day at AJAX yesterday as I was ring managing as well as trying to compete. Unfortunately working at the show means that I can’t concentrate on my dogs or the courses etc properly and my results always suffer! I do like to take my turn helping though as if no one does then there won’t be any shows!
Poppy won senior jumping and was clear (6th) in Champ Steeplechase 2.
Great day out at Surrey KC agility today. After 12 weeks off with my sciatica and Ellie’s pups and a not so fit Poppy I wasn’t expecting much and was just planning on hobbling round the courses (which I did) with a steady Pops to just have some fun. Well this worked for the first two classes where our steady clears got us a 5th in C1-2 Agility 1 and 7th in C1-2 Jumping. However by the time it got to C1-2 Agility 2, Poppy decided that she had had enough of waiting for me and me holding her back and shot off to do things properly with me totally unable to keep up in my still half broken state and just shouting left, right, go, through, scale it etc at the (sort of) correct times! Judge Bill Chaffe who knows Pops and me and my plans to keep her steady was laughing his head off, applauding her beautiful clear and shouting ‘about time’ at me. I go running to the scorer to check my time asking ‘please tell me I haven’t won it have I?’ Luckily the answer was ‘no but she has done very well’, so I was able to call back to the still laughing Bill that she hadn’t won it at which he stuck his tongue out at me!!! A good giggle and Pops earned herself a well deserved 2nd place 😊 This excellent collection of points today leaves us just needing 10 now for her silver warrant so almost there and with 2 shows to go still this year, if my back holds up hopefully she’ll do it!
Ellie enjoyed the day out but was gutted not to have any runs. She will be thrilled to do casual at AJAX as we work in her fitness.
The pups came as well and had a fantastic day making loads of new friends, human and dog and it was great socialisation for them with even the red arrows going over a few times as they did a display down the road.
We also got the pleasure of meeting up with the lovely Bolt again with Josie also having a great time and looking so well and happy 😊
A good catch up with loads of agility friends as well so a really good fun day for me as well. Off for a soak in the hot tub shortly in the hope I don’t stiffen up too much and will be able to walk tomorrow!!
Super proud of my amazing Poppy today with another great day at the office at Keston KC agility, super consistent with 3/3 Clears resulting in 1st G2 Jumping, 3rd G2 Agility and 7th C1-2 Jumping with some dodgy handling on my part doing a wide badly angled turn loosing her time! She is super happy and smiley and loved every minute of her day as usual being spoilt with plenty of treats! 😍🐶💕🎉
I really enjoyed the day too loving running her and enjoying some great company yet again, great catching up with friends. At least a months break now for Poppy so I can dedicate my time to her grand pups due at the end of the week 😉
A really good day today at MAD KC open agility show. Poppy won the G2 jumping from an entry of 54 (including beating the G1 winner by 5 secs!) and was Clear just out of the placings in the C1-7 tunnellers. She really enjoyed herself as usual and is very pleased with herself having had lots of extra treats. Love my little girl 😍🐶🎉
Poppy was the star today at Wessex Border Collie Club Open show under breed specialist Hilary Kerr winning Special Working Bitch against some good dogs! Thank you very much once again to Janice for handling her so well! Ellie who I hadn’t planned on taking had to come with me and ended up with the VHC (5th) in post graduate bitch.

Ellie and I in the ring today
Poppy and Ellie have received their prizes for the Agility Edge (national) League 2015 and are very proud of them.
Poppy won Standard Level 1 (also beating the Large Level 1 winner) and was 3rd Standard Steeplechase (All grades).
Ellie was 3rd Standard Level 1.
Another really good day for Poppy today at Tunbridge Wells KC Champ agility show. She was 3rd in G2 Jumping from approx 40 dogs and 6th in C1-2 Agility from 93 dogs so really pleased with her. She was also one of the 2 clears for for our team in the Crufts Team qualifier so another faultless day for her!! Her jumping 3rd was only 1 sec of the winner and I am kicking myself for over running several of the tight turns which sent her wide losing time! She has a great time as usual and loved every minute if it 😊🐶
I am very, very excited to say that last night Ellie (Kirkbridgend Rock Star) was scanned and confirmed 3 weeks in whelp to the gorgeous Jojo (Sh Ch Littlethorn Triton). Puppies will be due 10 June 2016.
Loads of information on this litter and photos of the sire can be seen on my main litter page: Kirkbridgend Planned Litters
Both parents and all puppies will be fully health tested.
A busy but fun and successful weekend, the highlight being Ellie qualifying for Crufts 2017 with a 3rd in Limit bitch today at East Anglian Border Collie Club Champ Show under breed specialist Pat Ward. Not only am I thrilled that she is qualified but even more so that she did it from Limit! She was also 2nd in special working bitch .
Poppy was 3rd in special working bitch at East Anglican BCC on Monday and was 4th in special working bitch on Saturday at Midlands Border Collie Club Champ show under breed specialist Marion Turner.
Ellie was short listed in a large Post Grad bitch class at Midlands and ended up in 6th position which sadly left her 1 place out of the prize cards. Still thrilled that she did that well in a big quality class.
A good first day back at KC agility today at WBSDS. Poppy was her usual magnificent self and amassed 4 clears from 4 runs with a 3rd in G2 Agility and 14th in C1-3 Agility. She would have been 4th in her second G2 jumping but sadly they only placed to 3rd and she would have been 6th in her first G2 jumping but again only placing to 3rd 😔
Ellie had a good first day at KC Agility with a Clear in the first G2 Jumping which would have been 4th if they weren’t only placing to 3rd and a good clear in the C1-3 Agility. She sadly had a pole in the G2 Agility and started her second G2 jumping run really well with lovely 12 weaves then 3/4 through in the last tunnel just got over excited and babyish and ended up with an E. Still a really good first day at KC for her with lots of promise but lots to work on!
The highlight of the day was catching up with Fiona Boyne and Buddy (Kirkbridgend Rock Legend) who I hadn’t seen since he left at 8 weeks and he has certainly grown into a handsome chap 😊
